IT Services in Mont-Tremblant for SMBs

A city of fewer than 12,000 residents that welcomes close to three million visitors a year: the IT of a Tremblant SMB moves to the rhythm of the seasons. OKTO already supports organizations in the region. We work remotely from Trois-Rivières and schedule visits. No office in the Laurentians.

How we work

How OKTO serves Mont-Tremblant

The Laurentians are not around the corner, and the tourism calendar sets its own pace. Here is how we adapt.

Mont-Tremblant is about 250 km from our Trois-Rivières office, roughly three hours by highways 55, 40, 640 and 15 before switching to Route 117.

At that distance, a visit is planned, not improvised. So the service is built to work without us on site: management agents installed on every workstation and every server, continuous monitoring, patches deployed remotely, backups verified from Mauricie. When travel is required, we bundle the work and place it outside peak season, not the eve of a long weekend.

The calendar matters as much as the geography. Opening twenty accounts in two days before ski season starts, closing a seasonal employee's access on their departure day, preparing a cash register or a front-desk workstation before the crew arrives: these are tasks planned with you, on your season and not ours.

The Mont-Tremblant economy

A small permanent town, a very large tourism town. Everything else follows from that.

11,846 residents as of July 1, 2024, per ISQ
Close to 3 million visitors per year
3rd tourism destination in Quebec
233.5 sq. km of territory, split across five hubs
Mont Tremblant resort: more than 1,500 employees

The Institut de la statistique du Québec counted 11,846 people in Mont-Tremblant as of July 1, 2024, on a territory of 233.5 sq. km. The City itself points out that this population is joined by about 10,000 seasonal residents and close to three million visitors per year, which makes it the third tourism destination in Quebec.

The territory is organized into five hubs: downtown, around Rue de Saint-Jovite; Le Village on the shore of Lac Mercier; the Tremblant resort; the Domaine Saint-Bernard; and the Mont-Tremblant national park. A local SMB can therefore easily operate two or three addresses several kilometres apart, with different Internet links and different needs.

Hospitality carries an overwhelming weight: the Mont-Tremblant area alone accounts for 80 percent of the room and lodging supply across the entire Laurentides MRC, nearly two thirds of it at the Tremblant resort (Laurentides MRC tourism industry profile). Tourisme Mont-Tremblant reports an average annual occupancy of 57.1 percent in 2025, up 3.9 points.

It is not only about hotels. The City has the highest share of commercial and industrial property assessment in the Laurentians at 28.38 percent, and is developing a sustainable business park on Rue Siméon, adjacent to Route 117, with more than 50,000 square metres available. Around tourism, professional services firms, construction businesses, retail stores and a growing health hub with the Mont-Tremblant Health Campus all fit in.

For a local SMB, three constraints come up constantly. Staff turns over quickly and in waves, so account management needs to be clean and fast. The customer is often standing in front of you, card in hand, so a terminal or network outage is felt immediately. And a share of the work happens in scattered buildings, sometimes in the mountains, where the Internet link needs a backup plan.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about our services in Mont-Tremblant

Yes, by scheduled appointment. The drive from Trois-Rivières takes roughly three hours, so we bundle the work that requires a physical presence and place it outside peak season. Day-to-day support, patches, software installs and most troubleshooting are handled remotely.

About 250 km by road, roughly three hours by car. The route runs on highways 55, 40, 640 and 15, then Route 117. We do not publish a numeric on-site response target: at that distance, it would be an unverifiable promise.

The ticket opens and diagnosis starts immediately, remotely, because our management agents are already on your devices. Most outages are resolved without travel. If a physical action is required, we walk someone on site through it over the phone or by screen sharing, which is almost always faster than a six-hour round trip.

Yes. The Mont-Tremblant area represents 80 percent of the lodging supply in the Laurentides MRC, and most local retail lives on the same calendar. We know the friction points of this model: payment terminals, a guest network kept separate from the internal network, front-desk workstations, booking systems, and staff arriving in waves.

Yes, and it is one of the tasks we automate. Creating access for a cohort of employees before the season opens, then closing every account on their departure day, protects your data and avoids paying licenses for people who are no longer there. We build the list with you before each season.

No, it is actually the usual situation here: downtown, Le Village and the resort are several kilometres apart from each other. We design the systems so they work from any site, with unified access and a backup plan for the Internet link at each address.
