What is the proactive vCIO module?
The vCIO module is the add-on service that sits on top of your Base, Standard or Complete package. Where the package covers the day-to-day running of your fleet, the vCIO module brings the strategic layer: a master plan, investment prioritization and guidance on your technology decisions.
A vCIO is a virtual chief information officer. They fill the role an in-house IT director would, without you having to hire one. They step back and look at your environment, build a roadmap, plan the technology budget and support you when decisions have to be made. This is strategy and planning, not troubleshooting.
No, it is added to it. The Base, Standard or Complete package covers operations: monitoring, security, support and backups. The vCIO module adds the medium-term view, with a master plan spanning 12 to 36 months and periodic strategic meetings.
The three levels differ in how often strategic meetings happen, how far the roadmap reaches and how many project hours are included. Essential suits getting started, Standard a structured twice-yearly follow-up, and Strategic a sustained quarterly engagement. The table above details what each one includes.
The module is priced per managed workstation or server, not per user: one person using two workstations counts as two units. Included project hours add up across your whole fleet. A fleet of 20 workstations on the Standard level therefore has 120 project hours per year, to use wherever you need them.
It plans how your IT environment will evolve over 12 to 36 months, depending on the level chosen, by setting out the priorities, improvements and projects needed to keep your organization secure, performing and growing.
