Coverage
Where we work across Quebec
One office, in Trois-Rivières. Coverage that runs from Louiseville to Brossard, taking in Quebec City and the island of Montreal along the way. Here are the real distances, the real drive times, and the exact line between what the network handles and what needs a truck.
OKTO Solutions serves small and mid-sized businesses across Quebec from a single office in Trois-Rivières. Day-to-day work is handled remotely, which covers the large majority of requests. On-site visits are scheduled and reserved for hardware: cabling, servers, wireless access points, office fit-outs and physical inventory.
Fifteen territories
The regions we cover, one by one
Each territory has its own page, with its local economy, its distances and the questions that come up there. A law firm in the Capitale-Nationale and a distribution centre in Montérégie do not bring us the same problems, so they do not get the same page.

What we measured
How long before a technician is at your door?
That question deserves a number rather than a promise. The distances below are road distances, measured from our Trois-Rivières office to the centre of each territory.
| Territory | Road distance | Drive time | On-site visit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trois-Rivières and Cap-de-la-Madeleine | Local | A few minutes | Same day when the outage is holding up a team |
| Bécancour, Louiseville, Shawinigan | 23 to 41 km | 25 to 45 minutes | Same day or next day, depending on urgency |
| Saint-Tite, Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade | About 65 km | About 1 hour | Scheduled, work grouped into one trip |
| La Tuque | 166 km | About 2 hours | Booked ahead, a full day on site |
| Quebec City and Lévis | 129 km | Under 2 hours | Scheduled, date set in advance |
| Laval and Boucherville | 138 km | About 2 hours | Scheduled, date set in advance |
| Montreal | 141 km | About 2 hours, longer at rush hour | Scheduled, date set in advance |
| Brossard and the southern South Shore | 155 km | About 2 hours | Scheduled, date set in advance |
The real split
What gets solved remotely, and what needs a visit
A remote session covers the large majority of the daily work in a small business. Our management tools sit on your devices, so a request does not wait for a drive to be dealt with. The truck comes out when the problem is physical, and only then.
Over the network, right away
- Slow workstation, an application crashing, a print job that never comes out
- Locked account, password resets, an employee arriving or leaving
- Microsoft 365: shared mailboxes, SharePoint and OneDrive permissions, sharing rules
- Security patches, managed antivirus, encryption on laptops
- Monitoring of servers, backups and network links
- Compromised account, phishing, a lost device to lock down
- Restoring files, mailboxes or a virtual machine
On site, scheduled
- Cabling, patch panels, switches, wireless access points
- Standing up or decommissioning a physical server
- Opening, moving or closing an office
- Wireless coverage for a warehouse, a shop floor or a store
- Replacing workstations in batches and taking physical inventory
- Auditing a server room, listing equipment that is past its end of life
- The yearly planning meeting with management
How the call gets made
How we decide to get in the car
A trip costs two hours of highway driving and half a day of availability. We do not trigger one to restart a service. We trigger one when being there changes the outcome, and while we are in the building we clear the list of small jobs that have been sitting around: the workstation due for replacement, the badly placed access point, the old switch running hot, the patch panel nobody ever labelled.
- The request comes in and a technician takes control of the device right away.
- The diagnosis settles it: software, configuration or hardware.
- If it is physical, we confirm a date and a realistic arrival time.
- The visit list fills up with your pending small jobs.
- The written summary goes to you, with what is left to do and when.
The monitoring console sees every one of your sites, whatever city they sit in.
For the far territories, work is grouped. Rather than three round trips in three weeks, one planned and announced visit, with a task list built with you. Replacement equipment leaves Trois-Rivières ready to go: patched, encrypted, joined to your directory. All that is left is plugging it in.
