IT services in Lanaudière, from Berthierville to Terrebonne

Seven Lanaudière towns have their own page on this site. OKTO Solutions offers them its services from Trois-Rivières, where its only office is located: remotely for day-to-day needs, on site when a planned visit is the right answer. Here is how it works, with no promise that could not be kept.

OKTO Solutions offers IT services to SMBs in Lanaudière from Trois-Rivières. Berthierville is about 64 km away, Lavaltrie about 80 km, Joliette about 88 km, L’Assomption about 100 km, Repentigny about 109 km, Mascouche about 123 km and Terrebonne about 124 km. Support goes over the network and visits are planned.

How does OKTO Solutions work with a small business in Lanaudière?

In Lanaudière, OKTO Solutions offers IT services to SMBs without having an office there: the team works from Trois-Rivières, about 64 km from Berthierville and about 124 km from Terrebonne. An employee’s request becomes a ticket, handled remotely in the great majority of cases. Jobs that need hands on site, such as moving premises or redoing wireless coverage, wait for a planned visit, booked ahead and bundled with other tasks. The region has six regional county municipalities: D’Autray, Joliette, L’Assomption, Les Moulins, Matawinie and Montcalm. Its population is estimated at 569,335 people in 2025; the figure, still provisional, comes from the Institut de la statistique du Québec. Seven towns have their page on this site, each on a different topic, from switching providers to email protection. No visit time is promised there: what is written here is what can be delivered from Trois-Rivières.

Seven towns

Which Lanaudière towns are covered, and on what topic?

The towns are listed from the closest to the Trois-Rivières office to the farthest. Each one leads to a page written for it, on a question a small business ends up asking sooner or later.

TownDistance from the officeTopic of its page
Berthiervilleabout 64 kmA partner rather than a vendor
Lavaltrieabout 80 kmSmall businesses in the D’Autray RCM
Jolietteabout 88 kmSwitching providers without downtime
L’Assomptionabout 100 kmThe cyber insurance questionnaire
Repentignyabout 109 kmEmail protection
Mascoucheabout 123 kmOne point of contact for all your IT
Terrebonneabout 124 kmCo-managed IT alongside your IT lead
Why is there no visit time in this table? Because none has been measured for these towns. Distance is a fact. The rest is discussed with you and written into the agreement.

The travel logic

How is a visit to Lanaudière decided?

Trois-Rivières and Repentigny are about 109 km apart. Nobody drives that to restart a service. The drive happens when being on site changes the outcome, and the decision always goes through the same steps.

  1. The request comes in. It becomes a ticket, and a technician takes control of the device without travelling.
  2. The diagnosis settles it. Software, configuration or hardware: that is what says whether the drive is needed.
  3. If it is physical, a date is set. A realistic, announced date, rather than a promised arrival nobody could guarantee.
  4. The visit list fills up. A workstation at end of life, an access point to move, a switch running hot: the small jobs waiting at your place go on the same trip.
Outside the Mauricie, travel is planned. That is what makes it possible to group several jobs into one visit. Everyday support is described on the IT support page, and full management of the fleet on managed IT services.

Projects

And when the work is a project rather than a fix?

A file server to replace, a move to Microsoft 365, an office relocation: those are not tickets, they are projects. A project falls outside the scope of the plans. Its price is set separately, before anything is touched, and it moves forward in steps known ahead of time rather than from one emergency to the next.

For a business in Lanaudière, distance weighs little in a well-prepared project. The inventory of accounts and files, the preparation of the new equipment and the data copy all happen without anyone hitting the road. On-site presence is kept for the moment it counts: plugging in and cutting over, at a time agreed with you.

At the end, the old equipment is only retired once the new one has been validated. The documentation of your environment is handed over to you, and the administrator accounts stay in your name. The Microsoft 365 page walks through the steps of a migration. The one on switching IT providers gives the order to follow when the project starts with a change of team.

Sample screen, with a fictitious company, project and dates: tracking in five steps, from inventory to retiring the old server.

Several offices

One office in Joliette, another in Repentigny: do we need two providers?

No. Two addresses in the same region do not make two fleets, let alone two ways of doing things.

What both offices share

The monitoring console, the security policies, the backups and the documentation. An employee in Joliette and an employee in Repentigny send their requests to the same place, and those requests are tracked the same way until they are closed.

What belongs to each address

The Internet link, the cabling, the wireless access points, the switches. That is the equipment that does not travel over the network, and it is what fills the list of a planned visit, with both addresses bundled together.

The vCIO module adds an IT master plan. Replacements for all your addresses sit in the same roadmap, spread over several years instead of all landing on the day something fails.

The territory

Lanaudière: six RCMs and two large cities

According to the Institut de la statistique du Québec, 569,335 people lived in Lanaudière in 2025, and that figure is still provisional. Terrebonne and Repentigny together account for about 40% of the region’s population, according to the Government of Quebec’s socio-economic portrait.

  • D’Autray RCM: Berthierville and Lavaltrie
  • Joliette RCM: Joliette
  • L’Assomption RCM: L’Assomption and Repentigny
  • Les Moulins RCM: Mascouche and Terrebonne, its only two municipalities
  • Matawinie RCM: services offered, no town page yet
  • Montcalm RCM: services offered, no town page yet

In 2025, Lanaudière’s industrial structure relied more on household services and construction than that of Quebec as a whole. Population growth and steady residential investment partly explain the weight of construction. On the manufacturing side, activity is concentrated mainly in plastic and rubber products and in food.

A construction company has few people at the office and many on job sites. Its fleet is made of laptops and phones that head out every morning. That is easy to manage remotely, provided the devices are encrypted and access follows arrivals and departures. Managed cybersecurity and email protection cover the rest.

Questions and answers

Common questions about Lanaudière

Do you have an office or a technician in Lanaudière?
No. OKTO Solutions works from Trois-Rivières, its only office, and has nobody stationed in Lanaudière. Services are offered remotely for day-to-day needs and on site during planned visits. If you are looking for a technician who can drop by unannounced, that is not what is on offer here.
Terrebonne is about 124 km from Trois-Rivières. Is that realistic for day-to-day support?
Yes, because day-to-day support does not depend on the road. A locked account, a shared mailbox, a patch or a file restore is handled over the network, whether the workstation is in Terrebonne or in Berthierville. Distance only matters for physical work, and that gets planned.
We already have a provider. How does the switch go?
In a set order: recover the documentation and the administrator accounts, install monitoring, verify the backups with a real restore, and only then move support over and close the old access. The Joliette page is devoted to this topic.
Our insurer sent us a cyber insurance questionnaire. Can you help us answer it?
Yes. A cybersecurity audit provides what is needed to answer a questionnaire from a customer or an insurer, with evidence taken from your real environment. Whatever is missing goes into a remediation plan. The L’Assomption page covers this question.
Are the Matawinie and Montcalm RCMs covered?
Yes. Services are offered there the same way as elsewhere in the region: remotely for day-to-day needs, with planned, bundled visits when a job has to be done on site. No town in those two regional county municipalities has its own page on this site yet.
How much does a trip to Lanaudière cost?
No price is posted on this page or on the plans page. The plans include remote support, and travel is planned or billed according to the agreement. A project gets its own price, set before it starts.
