Private health clinic
A DNA helix made of green particles spins on the home page, and photos appear under the cursor.
Demo sites: health care
A clinic website should show current opening hours, let patients book online, say which services are covered by the RAMQ or by insurance and explain what to do in an emergency. Forms collect only what is needed, because Quebec's Law 25 treats health information as sensitive personal information.

Patients open a clinic website for practical reasons. Is it open right now? Can I get an appointment this week? Will I be billed for this? A private medical clinic should say plainly whether its doctors participate in the public plan and what patients pay out of pocket. A dental clinic does well to separate routine care, dental emergencies and longer treatments such as orthodontics. Hours are kept current from a single source, statutory holidays included, so no one ends up at a locked door. On mobile, the phone number stays tappable at the top of every page, because plenty of people will still call.
Health information counts as sensitive personal information under Quebec's Law 25. On a clinic website, that changes some very concrete details. The booking form asks for a name, a way to reach the person and a general reason for the visit, not a medical history. The privacy policy names the person in charge of protecting personal information and says how long requests are kept. Analytics tools and advertising pixels wait for consent, especially on booking pages, where they could link a visitor to a type of care. When the clinic already uses booking software, the site sends people straight to it instead of routing requests through email.
A neighbourhood pharmacy is judged on how easy refills are. Customers want to enter a prescription number, pick when they will come by and know when it is ready. The site also lists counter services such as vaccination or blister packs. For a veterinary clinic, the question that comes up most is emergencies: what do you do on a Sunday night when the dog swallowed something? The page says where to go after hours, then introduces the vets, the animals they treat and preventive care. In both cases a professional order regulates advertising, and client testimonials go up only if its rules allow them.
| Element | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Current hours, holidays included | Nobody makes the trip only to find the door locked. |
| Online booking | Patients book when it suits them, even when the front desk is closed. |
| Covered and non-covered services | Patients know ahead of time what they will be billed. |
| Emergency instructions | A clear page sends people to the right place without tying up the phone line. |
| Forms limited to what is needed | Health information is sensitive under Law 25. |
