Demo sites: hair and esthetics

Website design for hair salons and esthetics studios

A hair salon or esthetics website should let clients book online at any hour, choosing the service and the stylist. It lists each service with its length, introduces the team and their specialties, shows a gallery of the salon's own work and displays the cancellation policy before the booking is confirmed.

How does online booking work for a hair salon?

The client picks a service first: cut, colour, balayage, blowout or treatment. Then the stylist, or no preference, then a time slot. The system blocks the real length of the service, so a full colour doesn't end up squeezed between two haircuts. Appointments land in the calendar the salon already uses, and a reminder goes out by email or text the day before. The big win is timing: a lot of bookings happen in the evening, when the salon is closed and nobody is picking up the phone. For an esthetician working alone, it also means fewer calls to answer with wax on her gloves.

Which services and photos belong on a salon website?

Each service gets its own line: what it includes, how long it takes and who it's for. A colour correction or extensions usually need a consultation first, and the site says so, which avoids a booking that's too short. For esthetics, facials, waxing, manicures and lash lifts are grouped by category. The gallery shows the salon's own work, not stock photos: before and after, curly hair, cool blondes, short cuts. Client photos are published with their written consent. The team gets its own page with each person's specialties, because people often go looking for the stylist who knows how to cut curls.

How do you write a cancellation and late policy that doesn't upset anyone?

A missed appointment is an empty chair you can't fill anymore. A salon's cancellation policy is shown before the booking is confirmed, in plain words: how late you can cancel without a fee, what happens if you're running late, and which services need a deposit. It's written politely, with no threats in capital letters. The reminder sent the day before includes a link to reschedule or cancel without calling, which frees the slot for another client. When the rule is clear from the start, the awkward conversation at the front desk doesn't need to happen, and any cancellation fee comes as no surprise.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions: Beauty

Can my current salon booking software be integrated into my website?
In most cases, yes. Salon booking platforms offer a module that can be embedded directly in the site's pages. If you don't have one yet, we help you pick one that fits the size of your team.
Can I ask for a deposit for colour or extensions?
Yes. The site can require a deposit for longer services, like a full colour or an extension install. Refund terms are shown before payment, so the client knows where she stands.
Can I send promotions to clients who booked online?
Appointment reminders are fine. Promotions fall under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation: you need the person's consent and an unsubscribe link in every message. The booking form can include a checkbox that is left unchecked by default.
Is Salon Mèche Rebelle a real salon?
No. It's a demo site with a made-up brand, built by OKTO Solutions to show what can be done for a hair salon. Your site starts from your services, your team and your own photos.
How much does a site like these cost, and how long does it take to go live?
The price is set after a no-commitment scoping meeting, based on the number of pages, the languages, the copy to write and features like booking or an online store. A simple showcase site goes live quickly; an online store or a client portal takes longer. If you have a fixed date, we build the schedule around it.
Do I own the website?
Yes. The domain name is registered in your name, the copy, images and analytics are yours, and the code is handed over on request.
