Level 3 IT specialist job in Trois-Rivières

You keep the servers, networks and critical environments of our small and mid-sized business clients running, and you are the team’s final escalation point. Windows Server, Active Directory, firewalls, Microsoft 365 and cloud.

The level 3 IT specialist at OKTO Solutions oversees the server and network environments of Quebec small and mid-sized businesses from Trois-Rivières. The role covers the stability and performance of critical infrastructure, acts as the final escalation point for levels 1 and 2, and shapes the firm’s MSP standards. Applications go to info@oktosolutions.ca.

The role

What does a level 3 IT specialist do at OKTO Solutions?

OKTO Solutions is looking for a level 3 IT specialist to oversee its clients' server and network environments. You ensure the operation, stability and performance of critical infrastructure, you handle the most complex incidents, and you act as the final escalation point for levels 1 and 2. When a file reaches you, the easy explanations have already been ruled out. You work closely with our clients' IT teams to understand their business and technical needs, you propose improvements in performance, security and reliability, and you contribute to the MSP standards and best practices the whole team works from. Part of the job happens outside business hours, because a server replacement rarely fits between nine and five. The position is based in Trois-Rivières and becomes hybrid once the training period is behind you.

Most of the work is remote. Some of it still happens with a screwdriver.

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes
  • Cloud and virtualised environments
  • Network protocols and services

What we look for

Skills and experience

The list is long because the surface is wide. Nobody arrives with every line checked off, and the interview is a conversation about real environments rather than a quiz.

  • DEC or AEC in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
  • 3 to 5+ years of relevant experience in information technology
  • Minimum 2 years as a level 3 technician or junior systems administrator
  • Excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills
  • Availability for occasional travel and for the on-call rotation

Solid experience deploying, configuring and managing

Two ways into infrastructure

Level 3 specialist or systems and projects administrator?
